Erdinger Beer

Erdinger is the world’s largest wheat beer brewery. Founded in 1886 by Johann Kienle, Erdinger beer is a well-known culinary product in the city that it was created. The brewery received its current name in 1949 from its owner Franz Brombach, who had acquired the brewery 14 years earlier. The current owner is Franz Brombach’s son, Werner Brombach (since 1975).

Country of Origin:  Germany

Tasting Notes

The soft initial taste is accompanied by malted wheat and caramel flavors mixed with hints of clove, banana and yeast. This is followed by a lingering finish of sun-ripened aroma hops from the Hallertau valley. Urweisse contains slightly more carbon dioxide than other ERDINGER wheat beers – making it a lively taste sensation.

Brewed and bottled in Germany since 1886, Erdinger has a brewing heritage of over 125 years. This is a hazy pale yellow brew, rich with yeasty, spiced bright citrus with a long mellow finish. Serve Chilled.

The bottle and nostalgic label also awake memories of days gone by – the only Euro bottle in the range. This smooth wheat beer specialty tastes best when served in its own specially developed, hand-blown glass.

Food Pairing

With its pleasantly spicy aroma, ERDINGER Urweisse is especially well suited to hearty dishes. Whether stew, roast or steak, the distinctive top-fermenting profile of Urweisse adds real flavour.
