Mekhong Whisky

Mekhong Whisky, The Spirit of Thailand, has distinct and alluring identity deeply rooted in the heritage of its home country. The spirit is created through a secret production process that has been passed down from generation to generation, utilising raw ingredients that exude a true Thai essence.

Despite being known as a whisky, Mekhong is much more a rum. The distilled spirit is made from 95 percent sugar cane/molasses and five percent rice. The distilled spirit is then blended with indigenous herbs and spices to produce its aroma and taste. Mekhong is distilled, blended, and bottled at the Bangyikhan Distillery on the outskirts of Bangkok. It contains 35 percent alcohol by volume, and it is used in a cocktail called the “Thai Sabai”.

Tasting Note

Flavours: Smooth, Mellow and herbaceous with chili and subtle vanilla notes.

Finish: Spicy ginger in a smooth, Well-round finish.

Appearance: Amber and Reddish copper.

With its complex, yet smooth aroma and inviting taste, it can be enjoyed straight, with a mixer or in cocktails, and perfectly complements spicy food.
